Much loved TV and stage actress, Thembi Mtshali-Jones, will be flying the South African flag high when she receives her "Living Legends Award" at the 2019 National Theatre Festival, in North Carolina, US this week.
This is a well-deserved honour for a determined actress who beat the odds to become a household name in South Africa. It is well documented that Thembi worked as a domestic in Durban while hustling for acting jobs until her enormous talent was discovered and she found herself jetting off to New York City as part of the Ipi Tombi touring cast.
On Instagram, Thembi shared a photograph of herself along with Lamman Rucker of Greenleaf fame at a welcome reception ahead of the awards ceremony.
Congrats Thembi Mtshali-Jones!
