The team behind the movie Moffie have announced via their Instagram page that they have been invited to compete in the Best Film Category at this year's 63rd BFI London Film Festival.
The red carpet festival is hosted in London’s West End and is the main annual British film event of the year. It seeks to recognise extraordinary moviemaking with just ten movies hand-picked to participate in the Best Film Category. The festival runs from the 2nd to the 13th of October.
Moffie is based on the memoir by André Carl van der Merwe and tells the story of a gay conscript who embarks on his military service in apartheid South Africa in 1981.
