The Kingdom Gospel Choir watched by millions during Meghan and Will’s wedding earlier this year is getting a record deal!
Here’s some background information on this incredible choir. Karen Gibson is the charismatic founder of the group, that’s her in the forefront of the picture below, she is a gospel conductor herself and directs The Kingdom Choir, it is made up of 20 singers who blend choral discipline with the uplifting Gospel spiritual sound. Their debut album is set to be released before the year is out.
In 2000 they won BBC Radio 2s Minstrels in the Gallery annual competition and in 2002 they were nominated for best UK Choir at the Oasis Awards. They have performed on TV, for adverts, corporate launches and at venues including Royal Albert Hall, St Paul’s Cathedral, St Martins in the Field and the Millennium Dome, now the O2.
And if you saw their rendition of the hit single Stand by Me at the royal wedding, you would understand why they are now getting a record deal! Their haunting performance was said by many to have been one of the highlights of the nuptials. If you missed it…watch it right here…if you did see it on the day….yes…we agree it is well worth watching again!
Congrats to the Kingdom Gospel Choir!
