Robin Williams' daughter Zelda has opened up about dealing with her grief near the second anniversary of his death.
The beloved comedian committed suicide in August, 2014, and his 27-year-old actress daughter has made it a habit of taking a break from social media every year as she mourns her dad's passing privately.
But in a new interview with U.S. chat show host Chelsea Handler, Zelda candidly spoke out about his death and how she pushed herself to keep going during the gruelling months that followed.
She told Chelsea, "I just kept going, ?OK, well, today I?m going to get up and love what I do. And then tomorrow I?m going to wake up and be happy and love what I do. And then the next day'. Because that?s all you can do."
Zelda also noted many family members and friends were walking on eggshells around her, as to not upset her even more, saying, "It was very funny because, for a while, no one would let me do anything. I think there?s that reaction of like, 'Oh, s**t, are you OK?' And then even if you are OK, they're like, 'Well, what?s wrong?'
"For a while, I was just kind of left to my own devices. But a lot of good stuff came out of that, like I ended up writing 12 scripts, which was great, but then also you?re like, 'Is there something wrong with me?' And also, I didn?t see daylight for awhile, so I'm doing a lot more of that. I've been working really hard and it's been nice, because you get to not sit with yourself for too long."
In addition to her screenwriting projects, Zelda has also been keeping busy playing a transgender character in new U.S. TV series Dead of Summer as well as a crazy kidnapper in TV movie Girl in the Box.
Zelda's full interview with Chelsea airs on her self-titled Netflix series today, 18 August.
