Queen Latifah was set to receive the Marian Anderson Award for philanthropy in Philadelphia at this year's annual awards gala.
The organisers made an announcement on their website stating, “The Marian Anderson Award will be rescheduling its 2018 Marian Anderson Award Gala originally scheduled for November 20, as Queen Latifah is unable to accept this year due to personal reasons.”
The award, named after Marian Anderson, who was the first black singer to perform at the Metropolitan Opera is given to critically acclaimed artists for their humanitarian work.
Past winners have included Oprah Winfrey, Maya Angelou, and Quincy Jones.
The organisation hopes to honour Queen Latifah in the future.
