Last week South Africans and legions of fans around the world mourned the passing of the inimitable Johnny Clegg who passed away on the 16th July after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.
He was laid to rest in a private funeral in Johannesburg in accordance with his wishes the next day.
It has now been announced that those wishing to pay their respects to the legendary singer can do so this Friday at the Sandton Convention Centre, 161 Maude St, Sandton, Johannesburg. The starting time is 12.30
While admission to the memorial service is free, in order to reserve a seat, you are asked to please collect your ticket at any Computicket outlet. There will also be an unreserved standing area.
The Friends of Johnny Clegg foundation have asked that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Click Foundation, a charity fund set up in Johnny’s honour to help alleviate the education crisis in South Africa.
