Prince estate rejects JayZ's $40 mill offer

The estate of the late Prince has rejected JayZ's $40 million offer to buy the rights to Princes's unreleased music.

In a letter penned to the JayZ's team, the Purple Rain singers estate said they were not interested in Roc Nation acquiring the rights as they did not want them to "exploit any of the intellectual property assets of the Estate."

The legends sibling, Tyka and her husband, Maurice Phillips, were interested in the deal but they did not have the full say over rights of the songs.

The estate has decided to call Jay out for making 15 albums available on Tidal for streaming shortly after Prince’s death.

His estate claims they didn’t give Jay or any members of his team permission to release those albums.

Prince, whose full name was Prince Rogers Nelson, who was found dead at 57 on April 21 following a drug overdose at his Minnesota mansion.
