The effervescent couple Mo and Phindi Grootboom joined Algoa FM’s Roland Gaspar and Rochlé Bloem on The Drive yesterday to chat about their all-new book, Stuff we Wish We Knew Before We Got Married.
Admitting that their relationship has not always been plain sailing, they said that they had written the book because there were indeed so many things they wish they had known before tying the knot.
Most importantly they said was not to “sweat the small things”. Phindi admitted that she found Mo’s rather loud laugh most off-putting when she first met him – yes - accepting the things we cannot change about our partner is vital to staying together they said. The ability to forgive and to compromise was also what the couple said were the bedrocks of any strong relationship.
Their trials and tribulations and ultimately advice on how to have a happy marriage is what you will find in the book. They hope it will help other couples navigate one of life’s most sacred and rewarding partnerships.
In the book you will find a list of the thirteen things they wished they had discussed before getting married, here is that list:
You can purchase the book at most bookstores and on Takealot for just R219. It is also available on Kindle.
