Nine women, including model and presenter Janice Dickinson, have filed a sexual assault suit against the disgraced former comedian after Nevada abolished its statute of limitations for civil cases.
Although many of the allegations are decades old, they are being revived following this change in statutes that define how courts handle sexual misconduct cases.
According to Sky News, the lawsuit accuses Cosby of using his "enormous power, fame, and prestige" to isolate and sexually assault each of the women named in the lawsuit.
Janice Dickinson, Lise-Lotte Lublin, Janice Baker Kinney, Lili Bernard, Heidi Thomas, Linda Kirpatrick, Rebecca Cooper, Pam Joy Abeyta, and Angela Leslie all claim the actor and comedian sexually abused them.
The series of sexual assaults and batteries are said to have taken place between 1979 to 1992 in Nevada.
TMZ reports that Janice Dickenson was invited by Cosby to Lake Tahoe in 1982 under the pretense of discussing her possibly appearing in one of his TV shows. She told the publication that they went to dinner where she says she complained of menstrual cramps for which Cosby gave her a tablet. After this Dickinson claims she felt “woozy, disoriented and dizzy after ingesting the pill. ” She alleges that he then took her to his suite where he raped her. Dickinson says she tried to stop him but to no avail.
68-year-old Dickinson recently appeared in the ITV reality series I'm a Celebrity... South Africa.
