World renowned and popular South African actress, Nomhle Nkonyeni has died.
Nomhle grew up in New Brighton Port Elizabeth, and is well known to the community of thespians and performers all across the globe. She is best known for her roles in local TV drama's such as 'Tsha-tsha, which has made her a popular household name in South Africa. She is also known throughout the world thanks to films such as 'Catch a fire.'
The accolades she has achieved have been recognised by President Cyril Ramaphosa who awarded her the National Order of Ikhamanga, and renamed Aggrey Road in New Brighton to Nomhle Nkonyeni Road.
Meanwhile the South African Government have expressed their condolences to the family of Mam'Nonhle.
It was confirmed that Nomhle died in the early hours of this morning, at 4h30AM.
