According to TMZ, actress Naya Rivera filed for divorce from her husband Ryan Dorsey on 15 November 2016.
The pair had dated before and split in 2010. In 2014, they rekindled their romance and got hitched in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. This comes three months after Rivera had an ugly break up with Big Sean.
Rivera and Dorsey had been married for two years and have a 1-year-old son, Josey. She is seeking sole custody of Josey and visitation rights for Dorsey.
In her memoir Sorry Not Sorry, she opened up about the break up with Big Sean, she wrote:
I learned that I was no longer getting married from the internet, and at the same time as the rest of the world. Not only were we no longer getting married, but apparently we weren’t even together anymore
She also shares how she found Big Sean at their home with his then future girlfriend, Ariana Grande.
“I walk in, go downstairs, and guess what little girl is sitting cross-legged on the couch listening to music?… It rhymes with ‘Smariana Schmande.’”
On Monday, 21 November 2016, Rivera and Dorsey released a joint statement confirming their divorce:
“After much consideration, we have made the decision to end our marriage. Our priority is and always will be our beautiful son that we share together. We will continue to be great co-parenting partners for him. We ask for respect and privacy for our family during this difficult time.”
It is not clear as to why Rivera and Dorsey are getting a divorce; luckily it's not as messy as her previous relationship.
