The death of the founder of SBTV has sent shockwaves through the music industry, the groundbreaking entrepreneur is reported to have died early Sunday morning.
The YouTube star’s company confirmed the death to the BBC but the cause of his passing is still unclear. According to the broadcaster, Edwards did a stint as a DJ at a gig in London on Saturday night.
Edwards found fame through the launch of the company SBTV, or SmokeyBarz, at the tender age of fifteen. The youngster would upload clips he recorded of his friends performing on the estate where he lived in Acton, west London and this was how the careers of some of the world’s top musicians, including the likes of Ed Sheeran, Dave, and Jessie J, were introduced to a global audience before going on to be signed by major labels.
His last Instagram post was, in fact, to wish Ed Sheeran a happy birthday.
