In an exclusive press conference with Soweto TV, Molemo Jub Jub Maarohanye made an important announcement about the release of a remix of his 2006 hit song Ndikhokhele.
He told the media that he had lined up gospel superstars Pastor Benjamin Dube, Dr Rebecca Malope, Judith Sephuma and Lebo Sekgobela to be part of the remake of Ndikhokhele and that all the proceeds of the remix will go to the families of everyone who was affected by the tragic events of 2010.
Maarohanye and his co-accused Themba Tshabalala were drag racing in their two Mini Cooper S cars along Mdlalose Street in Protea Glen on March 8, 2010, when they ploughed into six teenage schoolboys. Four of the teenagers were tragically killed while two were critically injured.
Maarohanye also expressed his gratitude to South Africa for being a “forgiving nation” and thanked his family, friends and fans for their support during his incarceration.
He went on to say that he does things according to ‘God’s time” and that now was the right time for him to “do the right thing.”
Maarohanye and Tshabalala were released on parole in 2017, after serving 4 years in prison.
Ndikhokhele is set to release across all streaming platforms Friday, October 30.
