Michael Buble was terrified his singing career would be ruined when he underwent vocal cord surgery. The 41-year-old singer told fans on social media in May (16) that he was going to have to take some time off "due to pending vocal surgery which will require a period of time for me to rest and recover".
"No talking or singing for a while but my doctors expect a complete recovery," he added in his message. Father-of-two Michael has now revealed that while the operation was successful, prior to going under the knife he felt more than a little anxious about what would have happened if it had gone wrong. ?Being a dad gave me something that I couldn?t have got anywhere else and it gave me context," he said during an interview on U.K. television show Lorraine on Thursday (13Oct16).
"So I thought, at the worst, at least I had a great run and I?ve loved what I do."Michael has been doing the rounds to promote his upcoming album Nobody but Me. And during another interview with Hello! Canada, the singer admitted his sons, three-year-old Noah and eight-month-old Elias, have given him a renewed motivation when it comes to his personal and professional lives. "That?s all that?s important - your kids," he told the outlet.
"That?s what defines me. I?m a dad first and then all this other stuff is a really great icing on what is the cake of life. So I think that you just have to hope that the people around you love you, and that your kids give you a part of that purpose, and you somehow balance it out with being given purpose in your own job, in your work and all of that stuff."Michael is married to 29-year-old Argentinian model and actress Luisana Lopilato.
