Cara Delevingne wants to follow 'hero' Angelina Jolie into directing

Model turned actress Cara Delevingne wants her film career to follow the path of her hero Angelina Jolie. The Suicide Squad star, 24, has moved from appearing on the catwalk to cinemas and revealed her love of Angelina has played a key role in her career change. In a gushing post on Instagram accompanied by a picture of the actress and human rights activist, Cara wrote, "My admiration for Angelina Jolie is endless."In her missive the British beauty explained how she had been inspired by Angelina to become an actress and now wanted to emulate The Changeling star's move into the director's chair.

"She also inspired me to follow my dreams into acting and have higher goals of one day becoming a director," Cara explained. "I have chosen her as my #GirlHero today! Take action today with @girlupcampaign and let me know who your #GirlHero is."Angelina's work behind the camera has seen her direct Second World War drama Unbroken and her most recent release By The Sea, featuring estranged husband Brad Pitt.

In addition to Angelina's directing prowess, the younger star also cited Angelina's charity work and involvement with the United Nations (UN) as an advocate for refugees as an inspiration."I also admire anyone who transforms their pain into power," Cara added.

"I admire unruly activists. I admire her continued involvement with the UN as a goodwill ambassador. She is ruthless, determined and unforgiving in her efforts to make a difference for Refugee's (sic). "Angelina has recently experienced turmoil in her personal life, filing for divorce from husband and long-time beau Brad Pitt last month (Sep16).

The divorce swiftly turned bitter after allegations Brad had been involved in an incident with the estranged couple's children on a private plane emerged. The accusations prompted investigations from officials at both the FBI and the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS). However the couple are reported to have lowered the temperature around their split by agreeing to a temporary custody arrangement allowing Brad supervised access to their six children.
