Hutchins, the husband of the late Halyna Hutchins will be joining the film crew of the movie 'Rust' as an executive producer in the new year. Halyna was killed in October last year when actor Alec Baldwin fired a prop gun on the New Mexico film set of the same movie.
Police in the US state said at the time that Baldwin had discharged the weapon during filming and that despite being rushed to hospital Halyna died of her injuries.
The 42-year-old Halyna Hutchins was working as a director of photography on the movie, she was a graduate of the American Film Institute and had been named a "rising star" by American Cinematographer magazine in 2019.
Sixty-eight-year-old Baldwin, who was a co-producer of the film at the time, was also playing the titular role of Rust, whose 13-year-old grandson is ironically convicted of accidental murder.
Baldwin took to Instagram to announce that a settlement in the civil case has been reached. His post read: ‘We are pleased to announce today the settlement of the civil case filed on behalf of the family of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. Throughout this difficult process, everyone has maintained the specific desire to do what is best for Halyna’s son. We are grateful to everyone who contributed to the resolution of this tragic and painful situation”.
