A 'Lilo & Stitch' live-action remake is in the works - joining other Disney greats such as Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast and The Jungle Book.
Producers Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich, who are working on the live-action remake of Aladdin, will be collaborating to produce the Lilo & Stitch film.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, up-and-coming writer Mike Van Waes will be writing the film's script.
The original Lilo and Stitch film written and directed by Dean DeBlois and Chris Sanders came out in 2002.
The film didn't do well at the box office but received an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Feature and launched a franchise including a direct-to-video sequel as well as a television series.
The film is expected to be released in 2019.
