A little over a day ago, Liam Neeson was the much loved Irish actor who has had his fair share of personal tragedy. It just took one disastrous interview to turn his life upside down and have the attention of the world focused on him.
It happened during an interview with The Independent to promote his latest movie, Cold Pursuit, a movie all about exacting revenge. Neeson plays a snowplough driver out to avenge the death of his son at the hands of drug dealers. Understandably the topic of conversation turned to the morality of revenge at which point Neeson went on to explain how 40 years ago he had concocted a racist plan to avenge the rape of a close friend of his.
In his defense, he did immediately admit that he was horrified by his past actions. However, the damage had already been done and social media was going to have its day.
The backlash has been such that Liam Neeson appeared on ABC’s Good Morning America to exonerate himself
