Kim Kardashian West has recently been making the headlines through her philanthropic efforts in assisting prison inmates who have been incarcerated for non-violent crimes in the United States.
The Reality TV star and business woman helped former inmate Alice Johnson, who was given a life sentence in 1996 for drug trafficking. She received clemency from the US Government in 2018 and is now out on parole and reunited with her family after 20 years.
It seems this has become a passion for the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star, as she has now decided to assist another former inmate, Matthew Charles who was released early from prison in 2016, under the new prison reform laws. Charles has been struggling to receive housing due to his criminal background and Kardashian West has offered to pay for his rent for the next five years.
"Kim did not do this for attention or publicity, but I had to share it, because it's to good not to, and my heart is about to burst with happiness, that I wish you to rejoice in this news with me", wrote Charles in a post on Facebook.
