60-year-old Simon Cowell is said to be recovering well after undergoing six hours of surgery for a broken back after falling off an electric bicycle outside his house in Malibu just over a week ago. This of course means that he is going to be out of action for quite some time so stepping into the judging seat while he recuperates is none other than 2002 Idols winner Kelly Clarkson.
Cowell announced her ‘take over’ via an ‘urgent memo’ on her Instagram page. Typed on paper marked with the logo of NBC - the channel AGT airs on - and titled "Some Changes…" the post read, “My friend, Simon Cowell, is doing better now but was in an accident and won't be able to make Tuesday and Wednesday's live shows for AGT, but no worries America, someone far wiser, cooler and hotter is taking his seat!
"The unbelievably amazing Kelly Clarkson. You're welcome in advance!"
Cowell also took to Twitter to tell his over 11 million followers,” If you buy an electric trail bike, read the manual before you ride it for the first time."
