Kate Hudson: 'Actress entrepreneurs cop too much flak'

Actress Kate Hudson doesn?t think it?s fair her entrepreneurial endeavours attract so much criticism. The American actress made her name in romantic comedies, like How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days and Mother?s Day. But the 37-year-old has recently expanded her creative horizons, launching her own line of workout clothes and activewear called Fabletics in partnership with JustFab in 2013, and a book titled Pretty Happy: Healthy Ways to Love Your Body earlier this year (16). Side projects are sometimes seen as a way for stars to cash in on fame, though Kate doesn?t believe her ventures, and those founded by the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow and Blake Lively, deserve so much flak.

?If you don't want to get criticised, do nothing,? she told America?s Marie Claire magazine. ?I would love to be able to pass on to the next generation the need to stop judging everybody so much. You don't have to like it. You don't have to buy it.?As well as working on her business, Kate prioritises spending time with her sons Ryder, 12, and Bingham, five, with cooking being one of their favourite activities to do as a family. She also likes to mediate when she can, and regularly does so alone or with her actress mother Goldie Hawn. ?I love locking myself in rooms and just being quiet,? she explained.

?A lot of people have a hard time in that space, because when you're quiet, you feel the uncomfortable things. You have to actually look at things in your life that are functioning or not functioning. And I like that place.?The practice of yoga and other healing exercise also appears to be doing a world of good for the star, who looks radiant in the accompanying photoshoot, posing in a red lace dress with matching choker. And the blonde beauty asserts that promoting wellness will always be her mission. "My mom's passion is about finding joy. Even in difficult moments, she has this joy of life. And I feel the same way,? she smiled.
