Forty-three-year-old Kanye West has shocked his millions of followers by sharing an image of himself on Instagram urinating on one of his Grammy awards. His ire stems from the fact that most artists do not own the rights to their own works, his rants over the issue have included comparing the music industry to slavery.
He captioned the clip,” ALL THE MUSICIANS WILL BE FREE !”
In one of his Twitter tirades, he said,” 90% of the record contracts on the planet are still on a royalty A standard record deal is a trap to NEVER have you recoup, and there’s all these hidden costs like the “distribution fees” many labels put in their contracts to make even more money off our work without even trying”.
West’s masters are said to be worth millions of dollars - he has vowed not to make any new music until he owns all of them.
