Kanye’s lawyers have issued their response to Kim Kardashian who filed for divorce from Kanye on February 19.
According to TMZ and various other reports, West is basically requesting the exact same conditions as his estranged wife.
He is seeking joint legal and physical custody of their four children which does not automatically mean a 50/50 split, and in all likelihood, Kim will probably have the children most of the time. As is customary in this kind of scenario, they will probably work out an arrangement between themselves and have it approved by the court. They have both agreed to co-parent.
There is no request by either party for spousal support and they will be paying their own legal fees - no surprises there. Kim was recently reported by Forbes to have reached billionaire status.
They also had a prenup so dividing their assets should not be a major issue. It looks like an amicable split all-around although Kanye might not like the rumors circulating of Kim wanting to sit down for a “tell-all” interview with the queen of talk show, Oprah Winfrey. She is said to want to set the record straight about the reasons for the breakdown of her seven-year marriage to Kanye.
