A month after denying reports that they had split, Jennifer Lopez and her baseball beau, Alex Rodriguez, have officially called off their engagement.
In an official joint statement to NBC’S Today Show the pair said :
We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so.
We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects.
We wish the best for each other and one another's children.
Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support.
While they played down rumors that began doing the rounds last month, they did say that they were “working through some things.”
51-year-old Lopez and 45-year-old Rodriguez began dating in 2017 announcing their engagement in March 2019.
Lopez shares twins Max and Emme, 13, with ex-husband Marc Anthony while Rodriguez shares daughters Natasha, 16, and Ella, 12, with ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis.
Ironically, Lopez is currently shooting a movie called Shotgun Wedding - the storyline? 'Darcy (Lopez) and Tom (Duhamel) gather their lovable but very opinionated families for the ultimate destination wedding just as the couple begins to get cold feet'.
