The 84-year-old actress and environmental activist revealed her diagnosis on Instagram on Friday saying that she has already begun treatment.
Fonda has non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, one of the more treatable cancers, and for which she is having chemotherapy.
Her post read: “So, my dear friends, I have something personal I want to share. I’ve been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and have started chemo treatments. This is a very treatable cancer. 80 percent of people survive, so I feel very lucky.”
She told her followers that she has been undergoing chemotherapy for 6 months and is handling it well, she also said that it will not interfere with her climate activisim.

Proof that her activisim work has not been put on the back burner is the news that her book,What Can I Do: The Path From Climate Despair to Action, will be out in paperback this Wednesday, Sept 7th.
