Iconic actress, 81 year Jane Fonda, is lending her considerable star power to the climate crisis and getting arrested in the process.
Inspired by 16-year-old Swedish activist Greta Thunberg, Fonda has temporarily relocated to Washington D.C. in order to protest every Friday at Capitol Hill to raise awareness of the magnitude of the environmental crisis facing the globe.
She has already been arrested three times during her peaceful demonstrations, even spending a night in jail. More protests could result in lengthier jail time which could interfere with production for the final season of her hit Netflix series Grace and Frankie.
Fonda, who turns 82 on the 21st December, has garnered plenty of praise and support for her activism from fans and fellow celebrities alike.
