Jamie Lee Curtis condemns Kanye West’s hateful tweet

Kanye Wests AKA Ye

The 64-year-old actress American actress, producer, author, and activist has joined a growing list of celebrities and Twitter users in condemning a tweet posted by the rapper on Saturday night.

West’s Twitter rant targeted Jewish people and was shared by Curtis who captioned her post,” The holiest day in Judaism was last week. Words matter. A threat to Jewish people ended once in a genocide. Your words hurt and incite violence. You are a father. Please stop."

The tweet remained on the platform for some time before being blocked and replaced with the automated message, "This Tweet violated the Twitter Rules." Ironically, before it was taken down, Elon Musk welcomed the musician back to the social media platform.

Ye, as he likes to be called these days, has been absent from Twitter for over two years, his preference has been to post on his Instagram account, however, he was suspended by Meta on Friday. A Meta spokesperson told CNN that content from West’s account was deleted for violating the company’s policies. He did not specify what was objectionable about the content or what kind of restriction had been imposed.

The hip-hop musician has been open about his battle with bipolar after being diagnosed with the disorder following a psychiatric emergency in 2016.

Incidentally, today is World Mental Health Day. The theme of 2022's World Mental Health Day, , is 'Make mental health and wellbeing for all a global priority'.
