James Blunt suggests NZ authorities use his music

Upon learning that New Zealand authorities have been using Barry Manilow’s greatest hits to try and repel protestors camped outside parliament, Blunt gallantly stepped in to offer his services.

Known for his ability to have a laugh at himself, the 47-year-old British singer/songwriter took to Twitter and suggested the New Zealand powers that be should, ‘Give me a shout if this doesn’t work’.

Songs by the US singer Manilow are being played on a 15-minute loop via loudspeakers, along with the Spanish dance tune, Macarena, Celine Dion’s My Heart Will Go On, the viral children's song Baby Shark, and now Blunt’s 2005 hit You’re Beautiful.

However, the demonstrators, who are angry at Covid-19 vaccine mandates, responded by playing songs such as Twisted Sister's We're Not Gonna Take It, and even singing along toYou’re Beautiful.
