Dame Olivia de Havilland, famous for her role as Melanie Hamilton in Gone With The Wind, has died at the age of 104.
The movie star died of natural causes at her home in Paris.
De Havilland appeared in 49 feature films between the 1930s and 1980s and was made a Dame for her services to drama in 2017.
The Academy said on Instagram that De Haviland was “ a mainstay of Hollywood’s Golden Age and an immeasurable talent. Here's to a true legend of our industry.”
Following Gone With The Wind, which was released in 1939, she received the first of five Oscar nominations.
Gone With The Wind was back in the news recently when it was temporarily removed from the HBO Max streaming service over its depiction of the pre-Civil War South.
It has since found its way back but with a disclaimer advising viewers that the film "denies the horrors of slavery".
May you rest in peace Olivia de Haviland.
