Freshly Ground's Zolani Mahola to raise funds for #Gig2Earn

Musician, storyteller and public speaker Zolani Mahola

Last week JOOX announced the launch of the ‘#Gig2Earn’ initiative to support local musicians currently experiencing financial hardship through an inability to perform live. ‘#Gig2Earn’ invites them to stream directly to their fans via the JOOX live video streaming feature - and get paid to do so.

In celebration of this initiative, Zolani Mahola, famed Freshly Ground singer, has joined hands with JOOX and Cape Town Magazine to host a #Gig2Earn fundraiser tomorrow, Thursday 7th May, 2020 at 7PM.

‘I’m so thrilled to be raising funds for the JOOX platform. I fully support their mission to nurture our music industry. I’m happy to lend my support to this company who are supporting our musicians who have so very much to offer,’ says Zolani.

The event will be broadcast on Cape Town Magazine’s Facebook page, as well as the artist’s Facebook page. The concert itself is free of charge and available to all. Donations to #Gig2Earn will be collected through BUSQR, using the event’s unique QR code that will be displayed throughout Zolani’s appearance.

To contribute, all you need to do is scan the unique code using your phone’s camera, and then follow the instructions.

If you’re a brand or business who would like to get involved with ‘#Gig2Earn’ you can email your query to artistssupport@joox.co.za. Sponsors are needed to allow the initiative to continue into the indefinite lockdown period.
