Fans of the madcap British series will be delighted to hear that a deal has been signed to give the show a reboot nearly 40 years after it first aired on UK television.
According to Sky News , Castle Rock Entertainment has announced a deal with John Cleese to bring back the hit series, which will see him reprise his role as Basil Fawlty and will star his daughter Camilla.
Camilla is a well-established comedian, actor, and writer in her own right and is no stranger to performing alongside her dad.
Regarded across the globe as one of the best comedy series of all time, the series is set in Fawlty Towers, a fictional hotel in the seaside town of Torquay. Highly string owner, Basil Fawlty(Cleese) and his bossy wife Sybil (Prunella Scales) attempt to run the hotel amidst impossible situations as an array of demanding and eccentric guests cross their paths. The show left British screens in 1979 after a four-year run on BBC Two.
The new series will take a look at how the obstreperous Basil makes his way in the modern world while running a boutique hotel.
