A huge crowd at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Manchester Tennessee were visibly shaken by the performance of Eminem’s song Kill you on Saturday night. The Academy award winning rapper was the headline name performing at the festival, but he disappointed many of his fans by using what sounded like gun shot fire during the rendition of the song.
This caused many in the crowd to panic and duck as a series of loud blasts rang out from the speakers. Many went to social media to voice their displeasure with one concert goer tweeting, 'I've never felt more traumatized.’
Although it was not actual gunfire, it traumatised many at the festival, and there has been a huge backlash with fans widely criticizing him for using the sound effect in the wake of the deadly mass shooting at the Las Vegas Route 91 country music festival last year.
Eminem’s manager has since responded to the criticism on social media saying that Eminem does not use ‘gun shot’ sound effects in his music and that the sounds heard by the audience were what is called pyrotechnic concussion.
