Meesho, an e-commerce firm backed by SoftBank and Facebook, released a. statement Monday saying it will permanently allow its employees to work from home, office, or any location of their choice.
The announcement has been applauded on social media.
CEO Videt Aatrey tweeted, "We're permanently adopting a Boundaryless Workplace model," adding that the decision would give employees the "power to define workplace flexibility and convenience."
His Twitter thread, which has now gone viral, referred to the pandemic and said,” in the last 2 years, new ways of working have shattered long-held beliefs that virtual work wasn't possible.".
His feed went on to say that the 'work from anywhere' policy would apply to all 1,700 employees of the company.
"Leaders need to acknowledge that employees' psychological and physical safety is more important than their location of work," CEO Videt Aatrey.
It's arguably been one of the most exciting ways to kickstart our week at @Meesho_Official!
