Cyndi Lauper will be releasing her autobiography later this year.
The US pop star puts out the self-titled book this autumn with Atria Books. The memoir is said to span her whole life, from her childhood through to finding fame in the 1980s with her hit singles 'Girls Just Want to Have Fun' and 'Time After Time' as well as documenting the "ups and downs" of her career and private life.
Speaking about the book in a statement – via AP - Lauper said: "Sometimes I come off good, sometimes not so good."
Cyndi Lauper was born in New York in 1953. She performed with a rockabilly band called Blue Angel before she released her smash hit debut solo album, 'She's So Unusual', in 1983. She was named Best New Artist at the Grammy Awards and followed her multi-million selling first record with 1986's 'True Colors'. Her most recent album, 'Memphis Blues', was released in 2010.
