Madonna became embroiled in a Twitter spat with Deadmau5 after he called her a "f**king idiot" for supposedly glamorising drug use.
On Tuesday (March 26), the electronic musician hit out at the Queen of Pop in a lengthy rant after she made comments seemingly related to drug taking while onstage at the Ultra Music Festival in Miami on Saturday (March 24).
With the singer reportedly asking the crowd if they had "seen Molly", using Stateside slang for the drug MDMA, he wrote: "Very classy there Madonna… such a great message for the young music lovers at ultra. quite the f'n philanthropist. but hey, at least yer hip and trendy! Fucking cant smack my head hard enough right now."
He then continued the argument on Twitter – after Madonna announced that she would be joining the social networking site for just one day (March 26) – and wrote: You're a role model to 100's of millions. You have a powerful voice, EDM could use your positive influence, not "molly talk".
Madonna refuted his criticism, however, by posting a picture of herself wearing Minnie Mouse ears and writing: "From one mouse to another, I don't support drug use and I never have. I was referring to the song 'Have You Seen Molly?', written by my friend Cedric Gervais who I almost worked with on my album."
The pair have since seemingly settled their differences, with the producer claiming that he respected the singer for "clearing it up personally".
The picture Madonna posted in response to Deadmau5 comments.
