Coronavirus shuts down production on 'Mission: Impossible 7' again

Tom Cruise on location for 'Mission: Impossible 7'

Filming in Britain on the Tom Cruise movie has been halted for two weeks following positive COVID-19 test results from some crew members working on the film. There is no word on how many on the production crew tested positive - it is understood that Cruise himself has not been infected.

A spokesperson for Paramount Pictures said,  "We have temporarily halted production on Mission: Impossible 7 until June 14, due to positive coronavirus test results during routine testing. We are following all safety protocols and will continue to monitor the situation."

Production on Mission: Impossible 7 first shut down in February 2020 in Venice, Italy, just as the coronavirus outbreak was starting to make its presence felt across the globe.

The Sun newspaper, quoting unnamed sources, said 14 members of the production team tested positive after shooting a nightclub scene, and that everyone would have to self-isolate for 14 days.

Mission: Impossible 7 is due to be released in May 2022.
