China premiere of James Bond movie cancelled

The latest instalment from the James Bond franchise, the much anticipated No Time to Die, has dates scheduled for its premiere in major cities across the globe. However, concerns had been growing about the ever-growing threat the coronavirus poses to those travelling into China.

Hence, a premiere screening that had been set for April in Beijing has been cancelled as well as a scheduled press tour around China due to the uncertainty around the containment of the virus. China incidentally, is home to the world's second-largest box office market.

Currently, over half the population of China, the largest in the world, is under lockdown due to the spread of the virus.

Bond 25 will be released on 3rd April in the UK and South Africa and on the 8th of April in the USA.
