Jin revealed his shaved head to his legions of fans as he arrived to start his 18-month-long stint of military training in South Korea.
He is the first member of the septet to enroll for service, all able-bodied men in South Korea are expected to serve at least 18 months in the military. There was some discussion last year as to whether or not BTS deserved an exemption, however it was confirmed in October that all members will enlist.
As the oldest member of the group, 30-year-old Jin is the first to have enlisted, arriving at the training base in Yeoncheon, north of Seoul on Tuesday 13 December.

His father took to Twitter writing: "Many different emotions ranging from heartbroken to proud. But we have every confidence that you will bring honor to your service until you return. Never far from our thoughts, always in my prayers."

According to various sources, the group will reunite around 2025, when its seven members have completed their service.
