'The British TV star of the 80’s Eddie Large, best known for his comedy double act Little and Large, has died at the age of 79 after contracting COVID-19 in hospital.
According to Sky News, his family said he caught the coronavirus while being treated for heart failure. His son, Ryan McGinnis, posted on Facebook: "It is with great sadness that Mum and I need to announce that my dad passed away in the early hours of this morning.
"He had been suffering from heart failure and unfortunately, whilst in hospital, contracted the coronavirus, which his heart was sadly not strong enough to fight."
Meanwhile, British magician Steven Frayne, better known by his stage name Dynamo, has just shared the news via social media that he has tested positive for coronavirus after experiencing "severe symptoms".
Unfortunately, the 37-year-old suffers from both Crohn's disease and arthritis, which put him at a much greater risk of becoming seriously ill from the virus.
Dynamo said that he had a private COVID-19 test for a number of reasons, "Firstly, because of my existing health issues, and the fact I'm on immunosuppressive therapy, I'm at high risk.”
"Secondly, although I haven't had a fever, my symptoms have been quite severe and finally, so that I was able to inform those who I've been in contact with so they can make their own relevant precautions.
"I've had my results back now and unfortunately, I have tested positive for COVID-19."
His message to his over 2 million followers also urged everyone to take the virus seriously.
