It has been reported on TMZ and Sky News that R. Kelly has been arrested in Chicago on federal sex crime charges. This is according to US attorney spokesman, Joseph Fitzpatrick.
Fitzpatrick issued a statement to the media that listed child pornography, enticement of a minor and obstruction of justice among 13 charges laid against the rapper.
At this point it is unclear whether these charges are related to previous cases. Sky News went on to say that it had not been revealed where Kelly is being held or when he will appear before a judge.
Detectives from the Department of Homeland Security and New York police officers had apparently worked together to make the arrest around 7pm local time Thursday.
