The new comedy, Night School, featuring Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish is a box office hit.
The film opened in 3, 010 locations and earned a warm 28 million dollars.
To place this into perspective, Smallfoot a new animation that was released on the same day in 4, 100 locations, earned a welcoming 23 million dollars.
The comedy, Night School cost 29 million dollars to produce and the proceeds collected from its debut weekend makes it the biggest selling comedy for the year.
The success of the film can be attributed to Kevin Hart and the rising comedian Tiffany Haddish, whose last film, Girls Trip, was a surprise hit.
Night School is a comedy directed by Malcom D. Lee who also directed Girls Trip and Undercover Brother.
The storyline revolves around a group of drop-outs who return to school to get their GEDs.
It is currently showing at NuMetro at the Boardwalk and at Ster Kinekor at Baywest Mall.
