"Thank You, Next" has smashed records on Youtube for being the most watched video in under 22 hours.
Previous record holders, BTS who had their video watched 45.9 million times in under 22 hours, were pushed aside by Ariana Grandé's "Thank You, Next" video that was viewed 46 million times in under 22 hours.
The smash hit video features many references to great movies that instill a slight feeling of nostalgia for anyone who loved "Mean Girls", "13 Going on 30" or "Legally Blonde".
It also included cameos by Kris Jenner, who plays the overly eager camera mother and Youtube stars like, Colleen Ballinger, Gabi DeMartino, Jennifer Coolidge from Legally Blonde, singer Troye Sivan and "Thank you, Next" co-writers Tayla Parx and Victoria Monét.
The song received a lot of attention before the music video because it speaks to all of Ariana's past relationships.
She mentions footballer, Ricky Alvarez, rapper Big Sean, comedian Pete Davidson and late rapper Mac Miller. All the rappers featured in the video as well, in the burn book at the beginning.
This fun tongue in cheek video only reasserts the lyrics:
Plus, I met someone else
We havin' better discussions
I know they say I move on too fast
But this one gon' last
'Cause her name is Ari
And I'm so good with that (so good with that) She taught me love (love)
Ariana has decided to take care of herself. She is happy and, we're good with that!
