The 62-year-old America’s Got Talent judge is engaged to longtime partner 44-year-old Lauren Silverman after popping the question on Christmas Eve .
According to People, it all went down while they were on holiday in Barbados and was witnessed by their 7-year-old son Eric and Lauren’s eldest child Adam whom she shares with ex-husband Andrew Silverman.
The newly-engaged couple had a scandalous start to their life together, after first meeting in 2004, it was revealed in July 2013 that Lauren was pregnant with Simon’s first child while she was still legally married to her ex. Lauren and Andrew, a real estate mogul who had been friends with Simon, divorced that following December.
Cowell has been engaged once before, to make-up artist Mezhgan Hussainy from 2010 to 2011.
