Adele has confirmed she will release her new album on 20 November (15).
The British singer revealed on Wednesday (21Oct15) that her latest record was ready to go and would be named 25. A day later the star has pleased her fans even further by announcing its release date and the title of the album’s first single, Hello.
The revelation explains the teaser she gave her supporters over the weekend in the UK on Sunday (18Oct15) which appeared to allude to the singer's new release. It featured no information other than a brief audio and some lyrics, which read: "Hello/ It's me/ I was wondering if, after all these years, you'd like to meet to go over everything/ They say that time's supposed to heal you, but I ain't done much healing."
Adele also showed off the artwork for her next release via Instagram. The black and white shot is a close up of the singer’s face as she stares directly into the camera. Her hair is curled under round her chin and her eyes are framed with her signature black winged eyeliner.
She also posted another shot which showed her half in shadow answering a retro style telephone to promote her single. Hello will be available to download and stream on Friday 23 October (15) with the video being released on the same day.
The announcements come after the mother-of-one took to her Facebook and Twitter accounts on Wednesday to apologise to fans for the delay in delivering new music.
“Turning 25 was a turning point for me, slap bang in the middle of my twenties," she wrote. "Teetering on the edge of being an old adolescent and a fully-fledged adult, I made the decision to go into becoming who I'm going to be forever without a removal van full of my old junk. I miss everything about my past, the good and the bad, but only because it won't come back. When I was in it I wanted out! So typical.
"25 is about getting to know who I've become without realizing. And I'm sorry it took so long, but you know, life happened... Love, Adele."
Her last album was 2011’s 21 which featured huge hits Someone Like You and Rolling in the Deep.
