A 6-year-old Michigan boy playing on his dad’s phone ordered just under R19 000 worth of takeout food before the bank eventually intervened.
On the menu was just over R3 000 worth of jumbo shrimp and plenty of chili fries and ice cream, as well as close to nearly R9 000 worth of pepperoni pizzas.
Little Mason Stonehouse’s dad, Keith, took to Facebook to describe how he let his son “play with my phone for a bit before bed” late Saturday.
“Imagine my shock when delivery driver after delivery driver show up last night dropping off food at my doorstep,” he wrote, comparing it to “something out of a ‘Saturday Night Live’ skit.”
The escapade has seen young Mason become something of a celebrity as magazines like People scrambled to cover the story, and news channels, from afar afield as Pakistan, sought him out for an interview.
Mason was also an extremely generous tipper - here he is on The Daily Show.
