The Country Music Awards honoured country music female singers on Wednesday night.
The female honourees, including Carrie Underwood, Kelsea Ballerini, Miranda Lambert, Maren Morris, Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman and Hilary Scott were the focus of the show. They were honoured for their dedication and talent.
Leslie Fram, Senior Vice President of Music & Talent for CMT said in a statement, "In this monumental year for women, dedicating one of the biggest nights in the genre to applaud female country artists not only solidifies our commitment, but we hope will spark a much-needed change in the industry.”
