Zuma to address National Women's Day celebration at Union Buildings

President Jacob Zuma will on Tuesday, 09 August 2016, deliver the national message at the 60th Anniversary of the National Women’s Day celebrations to be held at the Union Buildings in Pretoria under the theme “Women United in Moving South Africa Forward”

This year’s event will mark 60 years since the iconic 1956 women’s march to the Union Buildings against the discriminatory pass laws, which had restricted the movement of black people in the country.

The Women’s Month of August this year is dedicated to creating a more conducive environment to foster equal and full participation of women in the mainstream economy.
