President Jacob Zuma's attorneys have been paid more than R8.8-million to represent him in court during the past 4 years.
That's according to Justice Minister Jeff Radebe, who tabled the figures in a written reply to a parliamentary question on Wednesday.
The cases involved include those relating to the multi-billion-rand arms deal as well as the so-called spy tapes matter.
The question was posed by Democratic Alliance MP Debbie Schafer, who said her party intended submitting follow-up questions on the amount paid.
Cope's Johann Abrie said the revelation affirmed the Congress of the People's position that Zuma made no distinction between the money of the state and his own.
