Judgment in the application by former President Jacob Zuma to stay his arrest warrant will be handed down on Friday.
On Tuesday, Pietermaritzburg High Court Judge Bhekisisa Mnguni spent most of the day hearing arguments by Zuma’s counsel, Dali Mpofu.
It was opposed by the State Capture Commission and the Helen Suzman Foundation.
The Ministers of Correctional Service and Police, the National Commissioner, who had been instructed by the Constitutional Court to execute the arrest warrant, did not oppose the application.
Zuma has also brought a recission application in the Constitutional Court, following its historic judgment finding him guilty of contempt of court and sentencing him to 15 months in jail.
That matter will be heard on the 12th of July.
