Presidential adviser Zizi Kodwa is suing Police Minister Nathi Mtethwa and acting national police commissioner Lt-Gen Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi for 5 million rand after he was wrongfully arrested.
Kodwa was stopped and arrested by police in Rosebank, Johannesburg on the 11th of November on suspicion of drunk driving.
Police Brigadier Neville Malila said police had received blood results from a test taken on the night, and it confirmed that there was no alcohol in Kodwa's system.
Kodwa's lawyer said his client was pursuing the suit, and a summons would be issued in 30 days.
